Hey everyone,
Thought you might be interested in some WAY behind the scenes footage
of ACOUSTIX' trip to Nashville back a while ago to film for that
Gaither Homecoming video we were on.
The shoot was at the Grand Ol' Opry. Very cool place, with so much
history. We were just hanging around before the video shoot, and
wandered out onto the stage of the Grand Ol' Opry. Some guys were
setting up to video some interviews and such, and we asked if it
would be OK to sing one on the stage. Yeah. So, we did. Gaither
heard us and came wandering out, so we chatted with him for a bit,
and he called all the guys from the Vocal Band out to chat. We
visited with them, and then ended up back in Bill's dressing room to
sing a song for the boys while Bill taped some interview footage.
Anyways, so we sang them something, and they dug it. And then I
asked them if I could sing something with them. Now, we all know
this to be a very common practice in our world. But you'd think I
just asked them to recite the periodic table or something. They
seemed sincerely confused.
"Well ... uh, Bill's out doing some taping right now, and we couldn't
really interrupt him ...."
"Yeah, I know - I mean that I'll sing the bass part .... with you
guys .... on one of your songs."
. . . . processing . . .
"Oooooooh!!! Oh! Yeah, sure ... ummm ..."
I don't think anyone had ever asked them that before. They were
completely taken aback. Anyways, we chatted for a second till we
found something of theirs that I knew, and then we let'er rip.

This was a very cool experience for me. I've been listening to this
quartet in its many configurations for many, many years. And to get
to sing with them was definitely a highlight.
Thanks to Jason January for rolling tape on this thing. He didn't
know I was gonna do it. And I didn't know he was taping it. Glad he
did though.
